The law, and why we ask you to book ahead
In New South Wales a child under seven has to travel in an approved child restraint suited to their age and size. Taxis are not exempt from the restraint requirement in the way many people assume, and holding a child on your lap is never an acceptable substitute.
We carry rear facing capsules for infants, forward facing seats for toddlers, and boosters for older children. The restraint is fitted to the vehicle's top tether anchorage and the correct belt path, then checked by the driver before you get in. That takes a few minutes, which is why the vehicle arrives with it already installed rather than fitting it on the kerb while you wait.
The one thing we ask is that you request the restraint at the time of booking and tell us the child's age. That lets us confirm availability and send the correct type. We cannot guarantee a specific restraint on an immediate hail, so for anything time critical such as a hospital discharge or an early flight, book it in advance.

Pricing
How the fare works
Trips run on the standard NSW regulated taxi fare structure. Tolls and the passenger service levy appear separately on the meter and on your receipt.
We do not charge a separate fee for fitting a child restraint. What you pay is the fare for the trip.
For airport transfers and other pre booked family travel, we can confirm a fixed quote before the trip so the cost is known up front.

Do I need to bring my own baby seat?
No. We supply and fit the restraint. If you would prefer to use your own seat you are welcome to, and the driver can help fit it, but allow a few extra minutes at pickup for that.
What restraints do you carry?
Rear facing capsules suitable from birth, forward facing seats for toddlers, and booster seats for older children. Tell us the child's age and approximate weight when you book so we send the correct type.
Can I book a baby seat taxi at short notice?
We will always try, but restraints have to be fitted before the vehicle is dispatched, so we cannot guarantee one on an immediate booking. For anything time critical, particularly hospital discharge or an early flight, please book in advance.
Is a taxi exempt from child restraint laws in NSW?
Not in the way people often assume, and we do not operate on that basis regardless. Every child in our vehicles travels in an approved restraint appropriate to their age and size. Holding a child on your lap is not something our drivers will accept.
Can I fit two child seats in one vehicle?
Usually yes, depending on the vehicle and the combination of restraint types. Tell us the ages of all children when you book and we will allocate a vehicle with enough anchorage points.
Do you have room for a pram as well?
Yes. Mention the pram at booking, particularly if it is a double or a larger travel system, and we will send a vehicle with the boot space to take it alongside your luggage.
